This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information you provide when visiting our website or interacting with our services, in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Donation information: Your name, email address, and payment details when you make a donation through Paystack. We do not store your card details — these are handled entirely by Paystack.
  • Contact form submissions: Your name, email address, and the message you send us via our contact form.
  • Volunteer applications: Information submitted through our Google Forms volunteer application, including your name, contact details, and availability.
  • Usage data: Anonymised technical data such as browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages, collected automatically by Cloudflare for security and performance purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and confirm your donations and issue acknowledgement communications
  • Respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form
  • Review and follow up on volunteer and partnership applications
  • Improve our website's performance and security
  • Send updates about our work, where you have given consent to receive them

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Third-Party Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from the following third parties:

  • Paystack — used to process donations securely. Paystack may set cookies during checkout to enable payment processing. See Paystack's Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube (Google) — our website embeds YouTube videos. When you play a video, Google/YouTube may set cookies to track viewing preferences. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare — used for website security, performance, and email obfuscation. Cloudflare may set cookies for bot detection and DDoS protection. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

When you first visit our site, you will be shown a cookie consent banner. Clicking Accept confirms your consent to the use of these cookies. Clicking Decline records your preference and we will not actively prompt you again, though some essential third-party functionality (such as Paystack checkout) may still operate as required to complete a transaction you initiate.

You can clear your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cookies.

5. Data Sharing

We share your personal data only where necessary:

  • Paystack — receives your email and donation amount to process payment transactions

  • Legal compliance — we may disclose information if required by Nigerian law or a valid court order

We do not share your data with any other third parties without your explicit consent.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. Donation records are retained for a minimum of six years for financial accountability purposes. Contact enquiries are retained for up to twelve months. Volunteer applications are retained for the duration of the application process and up to one year thereafter.

As a data subject under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
